5480 Wounds of Christ #4 - St. Bridget Devotion

St. Bridget's of Sweden Devotion to the 5480 Wounds of Christ inspired this series of artworks: She repeatedly prayed that Jesus would tell her how many wounds he received so that she could honor each one of them.

One day Jesus answered her longing and told her,

“I received 5480 blows upon My Body. If you wish to honor them in some way, recite fifteen Our Fathers and fifteen Hail Marys with the following Prayers, which I Myself shall teach you, for an entire year. When the year is finished, you will have honored each of My Wounds.”

The artwork series is made out of 365 small encaustic paintings, that I will make available as I complete them. This is artwork #4. All artworks are different.
Each artwork represents a small portion of Jesus' body covered with wounds. Each piece has 15 marks (wounds) corresponding to the daily 15 prayers said to honor each wound.
It is a beautiful devotion and each of the artworks stand as a daily reminder and encouragement to follow the devotion or just a reminder of Lord's passion.

The artwork is made in a wooden cradled panel with layers of pigmented beeswax. It measures 2"x4" and it comes with a beautiful white linen square cloth, measuring 12" which has imprinted the number of Jesus' wounds 5480 and a red cross.

The artwork comes with a complementary booklet containing St. Bridget's 15 prayers.
This devotional makes a wonderful gift!

All elements are hand made.
