Where the sky meets the water - encaustic painting on salvaged carved barn wood

A beautiful waterscape - Encaustic painting done in the depression of the hand carved salvaged barn wood. Cracks in the wood are compositionally used along with metal wood joining brackets. The painting is done with layers of pigmented beeswax, slightly translucent which build up to a beautiful depth. Over the textured surface of the beeswax painting there is a slight line drawing incised in the surface. The soft organic feel of beeswax pairs up in a beautiful contrast with the grain of the wood. Any imperfections in the wood contribute to the rustic beauty of the artwork and are not to be considered a defect.
The artwork measures 11x27 inches.

Ready to hang, no framing required.
